Product Manager
About Ferocia
We're the team behind Up—but under the hood, we're Ferocia: a passionate tech company driven by innovation and financial empowerment.
In 2011, we cut our teeth crafting the first digital platform for Bendigo Bank. Building on that foundation, we later launched Up in 2018—a reimagined banking experience designed to bring financial freedom to a generation.
By 2021, we officially became part of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, continuing our work on Up and building innovative financial software for everyone.
Sitting firmly in the sweet spot of a small company rhythm with the impact of a major player, we stay dedicated to empowering those who need it most.
As proud members of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, we're committed to being carbon neutral, community-focused, and holding ourselves to the highest standards.
We love people who are willing to give it a crack—and even if you’re unsure we’re the right match on paper, throw your hat in the ring anyway. You might just surprise yourself.
The role
We’re looking for a passionate Product Manager to join our team, working on a new and exciting initiative for both Ferocia and Bendigo Bank.
This is a rare opportunity to join our small but growing team, and have a real impact on the lives of people.
We believe we can take Australians from a place where money is a cause of stress and anxiety, to a happier place where they feel empowered and in control of their finances.
You’ll be joining our product practice, and together with a team of engineers and designers you will help to carve the path forward in building a new approach to deliver leading-edge technology and ways of working. You may need to wear many hats and will be given the opportunity to own projects from start to finish — from idea to successfully shipped.
So on a normal day, you could be:
- Defining requirements for a solution that is loved by our users.
- Providing insight and suggestions to steer product roadmap and innovating within your product area by proposing ambitious features.
- Communicating successfully within the project team and at multiple levels of management, building trust across the organisation.
- Documenting ROI or impact for a given action, feature, or prioritisation decision.
- Collaborating with the development team to facilitate the implementation of prioritised features and enhancements.
- Identifying and coordinate the interdependencies among other programs and products.
- Ensuring product features comply with risk, compliance and legal obligations.
- Developing and maintaining timelines, ensuring delivery goals are understood and communicated.
- Gathering inputs and feedback and suggest improvements to our product development delivery processes, and operational model.
- Presenting to senior leadership teams.
What we’re looking for
- Experience designing and delivering end to end projects (from idea to successfully launched) - with at least ~5-7 years working with engineering teams.
- Passion - harder to define, but we’re looking for people who have a desire to push the limits, break the status quo, and be at the forefront of where technology is leading us. An eagerness to learn, expand your skills, and do the best work possible.
- Project delivery experience - a must have is your ability to track progress and provide reporting and measurements of project effectiveness. You need to inspire and motivate teams as well as be able to communicate wins and challenges to key business leaders.
- Product lens - Being able to understand customer and business needs and know when when to focus on the big picture vs zoom into the details.
- Independence - ability to work with a certain level of ambiguity, and “get shit done” autonomously, but still know when to ask for help. You’re proactive without waiting for direction from others, and can identify opportunities on your own, and bring them to your team.
- The ability to attend our Melbourne CBD office at least six times a year for company days, plus some in-office days to start while you’re getting settled in. We’re currently only hiring in the Melbourne area for this reason.
Working at Ferocia
We have a hybrid work culture where people can attend the Ferocia office as much or as little as makes sense for them, but we are currently only hiring in Melbourne (or adjacent areas) as we still value physically getting together at least a half-dozen times per year.
We offer:
- A small team of passionate people
- Generous leave and parental policy
- Flexible working schedule
- Great city office and perks (rooftop, gym and personal trainer, games…)
- Budget for personal development, training, and conferences
- Employee Assistance Program via Sonder
- Home loan rebates for our loans (conditions apply)
- Ongoing equity grants (conditions apply)
Not quite ticking every box? Throw your hat in the ring anyway! At Ferocia, we’re all about shaking things up and rewriting the rules. We thrive on diversity and inclusion, and we wholeheartedly encourage you to step up and shine. Let us be the judge of your qualifications for this role - you just might surprise yourself!
