Senior Brand Designer

About Ferocia

We're the team behind Up—but under the hood, we're Ferocia: a passionate tech company driven by innovation and financial empowerment.

In 2011, we cut our teeth crafting the first digital platform for Bendigo Bank. Building on that foundation, we later launched Up in 2018—a reimagined banking experience designed to bring financial freedom to a generation.

By 2021, we officially became part of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, continuing our work on Up and building innovative financial software for everyone.

Sitting firmly in the sweet spot of a small company rhythm with the impact of a major player, we stay dedicated to empowering those who need it most.

As proud members of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, we're committed to being carbon neutral, community-focused, and holding ourselves to the highest standards.

We love people who are willing to give it a crack—and even if you’re unsure we’re the right match on paper, throw your hat in the ring anyway. You might just surprise yourself.

The role

Ready to make a tangible impact? Ferocia is seeking a creative Senior Brand Designer to join our small, dynamic team. This is a rare opportunity to help redefine how Australians interact with their money while pushing your creativity to the edge.

We’re on a mission to fight the good fight and shift finance from a source of stress to a tool for empowerment. As our Senior Brand Designer, you’ll play a key role in visually articulating this mission across our brand, marketing, and app experiences.

Working closely with the Head of Brand & Creative, you’ll craft unique, sometimes unconventional designs inspired by youth culture and innovation, pushing beyond the typical boundaries of financial design. If you’re a hands-on designer passionate about creating distinctive work that truly resonates and helps shape a better financial future, we want to hear from you.

Check out the sort of things we do here.

Daily activities include
  • Ideation & Concept Development: Drive the development of creative concepts, from initial individual or group brainstorming to refined, marketing-ready graphics for diverse digital or physical platforms.
  • Digital Brand Expression: Design and produce unique, expressive online brand assets, including web pages, digital ads, and social media graphics. Sometime just art for arts sake.
  • Marketing Campaign Execution: Work on creative that translates into tangible creative assets (digital/physical ads, phsyical activations) that bring campaigns to life and hits the eyeballs of millions of Australians.
  • Product Collaboration: Partner with Product design and Engineering teams to ensure Up’s brand identity is effectively expressed within app features.
  • Creative Strategy Input: Engage in strategic creative sessions to identify opportunities for improving customer experience and financial well-being through design.
  • External Creative Partnerships: Identify, brief, and collaborate with external contractors, creatives, and artists who align with Up’s vision and style.
We’re looking for
  • 5+ years of experience as a graphic designer or skilled art director (studio, agency, or in-house), though we’re open to candidates with slightly less experience who are ready to step into a senior role and take on greater responsibility.
  • Passionate about branding, with a track record of delivering high-quality design across both digital and physical outputs.
  • Believes that having fun and embracing the creative process is key to producing exceptional work.
  • A concept-driven thinker who thrives on generating distinctive ideas—always aiming for originality, never following trends.
  • Highly capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus and delivering on time.
  • Has a genuine passion for the craft of graphic design and art direction, with an elite skill set and a commitment to excellence.
  • Strong understanding of production techniques and the ability to create designs that translate seamlessly into high-quality physical products.
  • Skilled in layout and typography, with a particular focus on web design and creating intuitive user experiences.
  • Embraces unique, unconventional ideas—we love people who think outside the box!
  • A strong communicator, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate design decisions.
  • Approaches challenges with a positive mindset, always looking for solutions even when faced with adversity.
  • Eager to help others and contribute to a collaborative, supportive work environment.
  • Based in or near Melbourne, with the flexibility to pop into the office on a weekly basis (or more frequently, if you prefer).
  • Experience working with or producing illustrations.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud; knowledge of Figma
  • Bonus points for expertise in motion design and or 3D skills.
  • Photography skills would be a great asset.
