Executive Assistant (12-month Contract)
About Ferocia
We're the team behind Up—but under the hood, we're Ferocia: a passionate tech company driven by innovation and financial empowerment.
In 2011, we cut our teeth crafting the first digital platform for Bendigo Bank. Building on that foundation, we later launched Up in 2018—a reimagined banking experience designed to bring financial freedom to a generation.
By 2021, we officially became part of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, continuing our work on Up and building innovative financial software for everyone.
Sitting firmly in the sweet spot of a small company rhythm with the impact of a major player, we stay dedicated to empowering those who need it most.
As proud members of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group, we're committed to being carbon neutral, community-focused, and holding ourselves to the highest standards.
Hi, I’m Xavier 👋
I need your help. My incredibly talented EA (Jess) is having another baby and, for the coming year, has chosen to lavish her attention on her newborn instead of me.
I’m part of the executive team at Bendigo Bank, responsible for Digital across the group (Chief Digital Officer), as well as being CEO for Up. I can’t manage that alone.
Jess does a lot for me, but at a high level she helps with:
- Showing up at the right time, with the right prep, to a variety of board and committee meetings.
- Remembering my random asides to structure and schedule them into agendas for my team meetings.
- Reminding me that if I say yes to everyone who wants to talk with me, I don’t get a lunch break.
- Organising team and divisional social events.
- Being the resident expert on our new invoicing system.
- Managing across two different calendar systems (Outlook and Google Calendar), which, to be honest, is kind of a nightmare.
- And a thousand other little things.
Jess says that I’m “accessible and easy to communicate with”, which is awfully kind of her.
I’m sure we’ve got a proper JD around here somewhere, but you can guess what it says. This is a 12-month fixed-term role beginning October 2026, mostly onsite in Melbourne CBD. Full-time, but we can discuss part-time with the right candidate; ideally you’ll be in the office with me and the team three days per week.
We’ll work together well if you combine relentless organisational skill with the ability to make it look effortless. Prior EA experience is necessary; ideally you’ll have worked with C-suite executives at a fintech or other public company.
What to expect
Our process is pretty simple:
- A chat with Jess via Google Meet (20 min)
- A meeting with Jess and Loz (our Head of P&C) at our office (60 min)
- Coffee with me
- Offer!
Salary range
The estimated salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000, exclusive of superannuation.
Working at Ferocia
We have a hybrid work culture where people can attend the Ferocia office as much or as little as makes sense for them, but we are currently only hiring in Melbourne (or adjacent areas) as we still value physically getting together at least a half-dozen times per year.
We offer:
- A small team of passionate people
- Generous leave and parental policy
- Flexible working schedule
- Great city office and perks (rooftop, gym and personal trainer, games…)
- Budget for personal development, training, and conferences
- Employee Assistance Program
- Home loan rebates for our loans (conditions apply)
- Ongoing equity grants (conditions apply)
Not quite ticking every box? Throw your hat in the ring anyway! At Ferocia, we’re all about shaking things up and rewriting the rules. We thrive on diversity and inclusion, and we wholeheartedly encourage you to step up and shine. Let us be the judge of your qualifications for this role - you just might surprise yourself!
